PROSPECTUS

The Institute of Materials and Systems for Sustainability (IMaSS) of Nagoya University was established as a research organization aiming to tackle various technical issues required to overcome in order to realize a sustainable society in harmony with nature. Currently, consisting of 10 industry-academia collaborative research departments, including the Center for Integrated Research of Future Electronics, the Advanced Measurement Technology Center, the Division of Materials Research, the Division of Systems Research, two funded research divisions, and two laboratories, we promote multifaceted and cutting-edge research in a wide range of fields, from materials / devices to systems. We have been designated by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology as a joint usage / research center of materials and systems for innovative energy-saving. Striving for sophistication and super-efficiency in energy creation / conversion, storage, transmission and utilization, we promote joint research with researchers nationwide in an extensive research sphere covering fundamental research on energy saving to systematization toward societal implementation. We are actively engaged in research mainly through joint efforts based on collaboration agreements with industry-government-academia organizations both at home and abroad, a wide variety of collaborative joint research projects, and consortium activities.

We will hold the International Conference on Materials and Systems for Sustainability 2021 (ICMaSS2021) for three days, from November 4 to November 6, 2021, at Nagoya University for the purpose of exchanging and disseminating academic information, including the latest research results in the above-mentioned wide-ranging research field, and of providing an opportunity to build a network of researchers. This international conference has been held biennially since 2005. It is expected that the ICMaSS2021 will serve as a forum once again where researchers and engineers who work in a wide range of research areas toward realizing a sustainable society will gather together for active exchange of information and interaction. It is also expected that the international conference will contribute to the development of academia and the growth of human resources. We look forward to the participation of researchers and engineers in related fields, especially young researchers and engineers who will underpin research on a future environmentally friendly society.

CALL FOR PAPERS

Research fields ranging from materials to system technologies will be of interest in the conference. Scientists and engineers from any discipline, who are engaged in research, development and technology areas related to such research fields, are invited to contribute papers. All submitted papers will be presented for the publication and presentation in oral or poster sessions. Younger scientists and students are particularly welcome to ICMaSS2021. Best presentation prizes will be awarded to outstanding authors of poster sessions.

Those who intend to contribute papers are requested to submit a short abstract of not more than 200 words through the web. After acceptance of the abstract, the authors should submit the extended abstract. The length of the extended abstract should fit on one A4 page including all references, tables and figures.
