INTRODUCTION
In order to realize the development of a sustainable and prosperous society, it is essential to create a society that is in harmony with our global environment. This type of ideal society, or EcoTopia, is what we must strive to achieve in the 21st century. In creating such a society, interdisciplinary research that integrates the natural sciences with humanities and the social sciences is of ever-increasing importance, beginning with the cyclical use and regeneration of goods, energy, and information and consideration of their balance with humankind.
The EcoTopia Science Institute was launched in April 2004 as a research center at Nagoya University to realize these ideals. It was approved as an official institute and became part of the university in April 2006. This institute is the largest research institute at Nagoya University and comprises the Division of Integrated Research Projects and four Core Research Divisions: Green Materials, Green Conversion, Green System, and Funded Research Division. This institute is expected to play a principal role in promoting interdisciplinary and integrated research needed to address various issues associated with developing a sustainable society.
The EcoTopia Science Institute at Nagoya University will organize the International Symposium on EcoTopia Science 2015 (ISETS '15) for three days from November 27 to 29. The symposium will be held at Nagoya University. This symposium is the sixth of its kind, with the first being held in 2005. As a forum of discussion and information exchange, we aim to weave together the most recent developments in the fields of interdisciplinary sciences with natural sciences, humanities and social sciences as the weft and green-materials, green energy conversion, environmental green system as the warp. The three days of ISETS '15 will include several invited lectures from world-renowned scientists and engineers. Organized sessions will include contributed papers, as well as general and poster sessions. Furthermore, as we experienced the disastrous Great East Japan Earthquake on March 11, 2011, it is our urgent issue to revise the energy policy and develop sustainable energy system as well as cope with radioactive contamination. In order to tackle many technological problems toward a creation of the harmonious society with our global environment, active participation of young researchers is essential, and we hope this symposium contributes to developing human resources among the younger generation.

CALL FOR PAPERS
All aspects of EcoTopia Science from basic researches to applications will be of interest in the conference. Scientists and engineers from any discipline, who are engaged in research, development and technology areas related to EcoTopia science, are invited to contribute papers. All submitted papers will be presented for the publication and presentation in oral or poster sessions. Younger scientists and students are particularly welcome to ISETS '15. Best poster prizes will be awarded to outstanding authors of poster sessions.
Those who intend to contribute papers are requested to submit an abstract of not more than 200 words through the web. After acceptance of the abstract, the authors should submit the conference paper. The length of the conference paper should fit on one A4 page including all references, tables and figures.
